Since its inception in 1875 as a small college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, Park University has evolved into a comprehensive private non-profit higher learning institution. Based on a main 700-acre suburban campus in Parkville on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River, Park operates an additional 40 satellite locations across 21 states and virtually from anywhere.

Enrolling a total of over 35,700 students annually, Park is proud to deliver 47 bachelor’s degrees, seven master’s degrees, and 15 certificate programs, many of which now offer online learning components.

Well-known for being one of the top education providers for the U.S. military, Park University has been selected as a military-friendly college by Military Advanced Education for six straight years and crowned the 8th “Best for Vets” school in Military Times magazine. Park University Accreditation Details
Park University has been given formal accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (NCA), which is one of the recognized regional accrediting bodies of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Furthermore, Park has been honored with discipline-specific accreditations for a number of its degree programs.

Some other notable accreditations include the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Park is also a candidate for accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) for its education programs.

Park University Application Requirements
As a selective university, Park currently has an acceptance rate of 69.3 percent. Incoming freshmen who have achieved a high school unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible for admissions regardless of their standardized test scores. Other students can qualify if they have a minimum overall GPA of 2.0, rank in the upper 50 percent of their class, earn an ACT composite score of at least 30, or score over 940 on the SAT.

Students who are in Missouri’s A-Plus Program automatically are eligible for admissions. Students who have completed no more than 75 semester hours at a regionally accredited college with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 can also be considered for transfer.

Graduate students wishing to enroll at Park must hold a four-year bachelor’s or higher from an accredited university or a foreign equivalent for consideration. Preference is given to students who held a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0, but students with a lower academic record may be considered for probationary admission with three or more years of meaningful professional experience. Though specific score requirements vary, most Park programs will require an acceptable GRE or GMAT score taken within the past five years.

Before the posted deadlines, interested students must submit an online application to Park University with:

Official academic transcripts from high schools/colleges attended

Standardized testing and entrance exam scores
At least two letters of recommendation from teachers or employers
A brief personal goals essay no more than 300 words in length
Current resumes with a cover letter (graduate students)
A $50 non-refundable application fee
Tuition and Financial Aid
At Park University, undergraduate students are expected to pay $369 per credit hour in on-campus coursework and $385 per credit hour in online learning. Active duty military, reservist, and National Guard personnel are given a tuition break at $250 per credit hour either online or face-to-face in the classroom.

Graduate students earning their master’s degree must pay $480 per credit hour on-campus or $505 per credit hour online. Certain students may also need to afford the $10 technology fee per credit hour, the general MBA fee of $75 per credit hour, or the Hauptmann School of Public Affairs fee at $4 per credit hour.

In order to help cut these expenses, Park University will automatically consider students for a wide array of financial aid options once they’ve submitted a FAFSA form. Either on-campus or online, students may be eligible for receiving the Federal Pell Grant, FSEOG Grant, state grants, or federal loans that will need to be repaid with interest.

Park also provides numerous scholarship opportunities for incoming freshmen, transfer students, and graduate learners. For instance, the Founders Scholarship awards $5,000 annually to students with a minimum high school GPA of 3.5. The Pirate Achievement Scholarship will also give $2,000 each year to students who earned an ACT score over 25 or an SAT score over 1140.

For students with hectic schedules, travel obligations, and families to take care of, Park University offers accelerated online programs with convenient eight-week terms from anywhere with an Internet connection. Currently, Park is delivering 24 undergraduate degrees and 16 graduate programs online in a student-centered, interactive virtual learning environment. B.S. in Information & Computer Science (ICS)

Offered 100 percent online, the B.S. in Information & Computer Science (ICS) program is designed to prepare undergraduate students for a wide range of job opportunities in the computer industry in partnership with Cisco Networking Academy. In the 66-credit major, students will specialize their core coursework with a concentration in Computer Science, Data Management, Network Security, or Software Engineering.

Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA)

With an intensive 45-credit major curriculum, the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) is a unique program available online for undergraduate students who are interested in fine-tuning their skills to work in government at the municipal, state, or federal level. As part of the Early Access to MPA Program, the degree allows students to select a concentration in Business Relations, Criminal Justice, Fire Service Management, Homeland Security, or Public Service.

Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA)
